Janet Parks
Janet was born and raised in West Virginia. She graduated from Stephens Junior College in Columbia, Missouri and Parsons School of Design in New York City, majoring in advertising design.
She worked as an artist in greeting card design for Norcross, Red Farms, Gibson and free-lanced for several others for over 47 years. When she retired, she moved to Las Cruces where she has family in the area.
She is a member of the Las Cruces Arts & Crafts Association, the Pastel Society of El Paso and the Friday Painters.
She has been to workshops with Zoltan Szabo, William (Bill) Herring and Paula White and
she also studied with Earline Barnes. Now she is having fun trying different
mediums and techniques. She works mostly in oils and pastels and
occasionally watercolor and colored pencils.
